"A new password was requested from 67.180.72.95" Okay. To whichever one of you fuckfaces who requested a new password for mine/Morgan's addictech account, I hope that you a) receive the royal karmic shaft, or b)come clean so I can wordslap your ass. In either case, I have a new password which will be promptly changed after each requested download, so the zip downloadage of Crunk Junkee may commence for those who hit me up in time to get one of the remainders. Back on track.
I have nothing but garage, glitch, and downtempo for you today, this day of Thanksgetting. You don't even have to wait in line or trample domes to get these 100% off deals, like these poor folks:
Pressha Mix, super good shit. all the tasty sounds you want right now, trust me. A Simplify records mix session (vol. 4)
-PURCHASES TO COME-
An-ten-nae's Acid Crunk EP vol. 7 is out now on Muti, up for download on addictech. His tightest Acid Crunkery to date.
Nhertz's Dropfellas remix has dropped on NoMad, a beatport exclusive DL. I'm buyin' that track (at a whopping $2.50) and the entirety of his Sunday Oscillation EP, which is more reasonably priced. Stay tuned for zip packs in limited numbers.
While this is of course destined to be followed by more posts a la boredom throughout the day, I figure we might as well start the holiday out proper with some things I was quite thankful to be given. I hope you feel the same.
Yeah, it happened. You'd figure they'd have done a bit more for their first production together, I dunno. Fairly tight, though. Basically a Bassnectar update on beats and sampling on top of a DatsiK bassline. The good news is that it is the precursor to a working relationship between Rottun and Amorphous.
The one and only release from this Subdepths (Garage/UK Funky) artist, the Depths EP, is a good one. Super dark, very clean Garage atmosphere comin' outta this Russian. Gorgeous rainy day music, to be certain. Scope his soundcloud.
...Time capsule to yesterday, last year. Crispo dropped this fat robostep release in obvious contradiction of his future music. Good stuff, hard to find.
Lando Kal and Low Limit have been cosmically crushing the scene with their inventive laser bass sound. It's funky, it's fresh, and displays evidence of a cohesive working relationship between the two. The artists are greats, stand-alone, but as their debut album proves, there is simply more potential when two or more minds are involved. I don't have that album for you, it's definitely one worth purchasing, but here's a couple of tracks and their startup EP, The Golden Handshake
Shigeto is... Nearly indescribable. His music, on many levels, is what one might call "ambient electronica", but this would be an ignorant analysis of the material presented. When one really tunes in to the emphatic movements of each carefully rendered piece, it is clearly magnified as having a deeper form: truly unique and deeply personal instrumentalia, a sonic arrangement of the self. The music weeps, with gorgeous minimalist soundscapes and the questioning, beat driven passion of early instrumental hip-hop. It looks inward, outward, and often slows the mind while directing the eye towards the positive. Ultimately, it is soulful, hopeful music that depicts the beauty in the world in a manner most powerful.
Dave. Fucking. Tipper. The man is the man. Of the few people possessing the production sense kin to Opiuo and L&L, this one is king. He also co-owns the loudest cars in the world with Richie Warren, the guru behind Funktion One. The vehicles are two cherry 1970 chargers (one is pictured above) that feature left and right channels, 10,000 watts each, for a custom fitted Funktion One bass system. Dubbed the Fuel system, it is legendary for bringing complaint from The Prodigy's stage manager for it's relentless blasting from the parking lot of the 1997 V Festival. Now ya know.
His Midtempo and Nuskool Breaks are the straight funk, and his downtempo is soul-crushing, perhaps the logic behind the title of his October 2010 release: TIPP00DL10 (Broken Soul Jamboree)
Berlin based Post-Modern Glitch Hop artist. Fucking beautiful, masterful production sense, and varying styles of glitch and ambience. BBC calls it "Essential Listening!", so you know it's good. I call it essential listening, too, so know it's REALLY good. Get it. Got it? Good. Robot Koch-Death Star Droid
I regret to inform the residents of California that this post is so filthy, the employees of Waste Management and the Trashmens union have begun a bitter strike destined to last through Christmas at least.
BIG CHOCOLATE: I'll just link ya to my friends over at Foreign Banguage, bless their little hearts, and they'll tell you all you need to know about the Huntington based producer of outright metal-step filth, BIg Chocolate: http://foreignbanguage.blogspot.com/2010/11/large-cocoa.html Super tasteful sounds, drums, remixes, nothin' but taste from this man.
BC has an EP out this month titled "I'm Shot!", but I have yet to zero in on a download for you. Try on your own time, or I'll link it as soon as I find one, I promise.
Flux Pavilion-Meathead
You can youtube it if you're hesitant, but you should really just download this Flux P collab. Easily his best to date and I can't tell if it's Flux (CR009-his new EP), or J Sweet that does the work for this one. Either way, it's golden and on par with the sub bass fuckery of Torino, Italy's Nhertz, whos Dropfellas remix (below) is scheduled for release on NoMad records Thanksgivin' night.
It tears a new hole in anything the Dropfellas have ever produced, and happens to be one of my top five for 2010. Word. Nhertz has a release out on Beatport, the Sunday Oscilation EP, and it is gorgeous on so many levels. Still working on a download link, I'll probably just buy it. Keep ya posted. Dropfellas - Crashed Monkey ( nhertz remix ) - Forthcoming on NoMad Records!!! by nhertz
It's hard to talk about Flux and not somehow mention another member of the Circus family. Doctor P has a ripping new Plan B remix, in typical rave-step style. It smashes, though, with a massive sound and an ultra-slippery bitcrusher line reminiscent of his track Rasputin's Gold, which is still my favorite. Plan B-Love Goes Down (Doctor P RMX)
And Druley coming out of nowhere with this ridiculously tasty track, as of yet unreleased:
A trained jazz musician and master of multiple instruments, Aaron Holstein flings some of the tastiest textures around from his home in Colorado. Glitch goodness, polyrhythmic beats, ass-ripping synths, coupled with melodic intention and real world songwriting expressive of his 21 years of live music prior to his current explorations into the world of bass. Three full lengths, two EPs (not including his forthcoming New Creatures EP), and many remixes, this man is still discovering sounds within himself after three years of pumping out immaculate ones.
You all know who Love and Light are. You all know why Love and Light slays. Comment if you want a copy of their newest EP, perhaps the funkiest thing to happen to the musical universe since Parliament stopped making music, and I will give you specific instructions to download one of the remaining zip packs I paid for over at addictech. Fresh out my pocket, into your homes, there are only seven left, I believe. "Get it while it's hot, get it get it while it's hot".
Opiuo. Some seriously slippery glitch ingenuity. Few people posses the timing, beat comprehension, and synth structure necessary to create masterpieces like this. Very few.
Slurp And Giggle
(2010 full length release+album minimix by the man himself)
Boganus Proteinius EP
(Featuring his Computer Music remix and Glottal Stomp: The bestest)
